In the past, the country had conducted several Population and Economic Censuses. There were also data produced from the administrative reports of the provincial offices in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF). But the data provided from these censuses and administrative reports did not include any information on the basic structure of the agricultural holdings in the country. Hence, the RGC fully supports the conduct of the NCA 2013 through the National Institute of Statistics (NIS) of the Ministry of Planning (MoP) in collaboration with the MAFF.
