The second AC was carried out in 2001, which was followed by those carried out in 2006 and 2011.1 The 2011 AC,2 to which the present metadata review and data refer, is the fourth agricultural census to be carried out in the country and the second AC to be carried out in the 2010 WCA round. Agriculture & Rural Development Food (production, crisis) Land (policy, resource management) Community Driven Development In recent years, Vietnam’s agricultural production and rural areas have developed in the context of implementation of the 10-year National Socio-economic Development Strategy (2001 - 2010) and the 5-year Socio-economic Development Plan (2006 - 2010), with major orientations, goals to 2010: promoting comprehensive reform, actively and positively integrating into the international economy, maintaining social and political stability, soon taking the country out of underdevelopment situation; several specific objectives: 5-year GDP from 2006 to 2010 increases annually from 7.5 to 8.0% on average; in 2010 AFF sector accounted for 15-16% of GDP; poverty rate according to new standard 10-11%. Viet Nam National coverage Households The following statistical unit& were covered in the AC 2011: (i) households in rural areas; (ii) agricultural, forestry and fishery households in urban areas; (iii) farms above an established threshold, as specified in section 7 below; and (iv) communes. The AC results also included information on agricultural, forestry and fishery enterprises and cooperatives. These data were collected using the Enterprises Survey 2011, conducted by the GSO. Census/enumeration data [cen] The 12-month period preceding the census, for harvested area, yield and total value of the production, production items from animal husbandry, forestry activities, fishery activities, etc. Face-to-face [f2f] A scanning technique was used for one questionnaire (Form 01/TDTNN-HO). Manual data entry was applied for the remaining questionnaire forms. The GSO developed a specific statistical software to store a database and to build up tabulations. Most of the statistical indicators were generated by a specific statistical software, using the SPSS and Stata to extract the data from the AC database. A data warehouse was developed to enable data users to extract and build up tabulations based on the AC database. The GSO carried out a PES to evaluate the census coverage and content.
