The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). FAO launched a fifth-round survey which utilized a random sample of 2 079 households across all divisions of the country. Households were surveyed over the telephone to monitor the impacts of shocks on livelihoods and food security.
