Four strata are defined according to household type and village agricultural potential: (1) small producers in low agricultural potential villages, (2) small producers in high potential villages, (3) large producers in low potential villages, and (4) large producers in high potential villages.\n\nIn the first stage, Primary Sampling Units (PSUs) are selected within each province (referred to as &amp;quot;domain&amp;quot;) with probability proportional to size (PPS), using the number of households in each PSU based on the most recent agricultural census.\n\nIn the second stage, six households are selected from each chosen PSU using Simple Random Sampling (SRS). These households are divided into two strata (typically three households per stratum), aligned with the producer categories mentioned above.\n\nThis stratification approach ensures representativeness across different types of agricultural producers and agro-ecological settings, while improving the statistical precision of the estimates. As of 2022, the EPA panel includes 5304 households drawn from 1668 PSUs across 884 villages. Access to the data will be limited to the Principal Investigator and other members of the research team identified in the data request form.\n2. Data files, including files derived from these data, will not be transmitted to anyone other than the members of the research team identified in this agreement, unless formally authorized by the structure providing the data or by the Institut National de la Statistique et de la D\u00e9mographie (INSD), National Institute of Statistics and Demography.\n3. The data will be used exclusively for statistical or scientific research purposes, and in no way for the investigation of individuals or legal entities. The results of this work will be presented in the form of aggregated statistics. Under no circumstances may the data be used for administrative, property or legal purposes.\n4. The Principal Investigator must report any intention to merge data files with individual data from another source\/study. If this is the case, detailed information must be provided to the data provider or INSD concerning the nature of these files and the purpose of the merger. Any data file resulting from such merger(s) will be treated in the same way as the original files supplied by the data provider and will be subject to the same conditions of access and use.\n5. The Principal Investigator guarantees that no attempt will be made to re-identify a respondent, and that no use will be made of the information provided by the respondent. The discovery of any re-identification of an individual must be immediately and confidentially reported to the structure providing the data or to INSD.\n6. The Principal Investigator guarantees that adequate measures are taken to prevent access to the data by unauthorized persons. Data files will be destroyed after completion of the research project, unless the data provider and INSD obtain satisfactory guarantees that the data will be kept secure and the beneficiary organization obtains formal authorization to retain them. The destruction of data files will be confirmed in writing by the Principal Investigator.\n7. Any book, article, publication, paper, dissertation, report or other publication using data obtained from the data-providing organization will cite the source of the data in accordance with the conditions indicated. However, the researcher must distinguish between the data obtained by his or her own manipulation and the one supplied by the data-providing organization.\n8. An electronic copy of reports and publications (other than books) using these data will be sent to the data-providing structure and to INSD.\n9. The principal investigator, the organization providing the data and the funders of the study are in no way responsible for the use made of the data or the interpretations or decisions made as a result of such use.\n10. This agreement takes effect on the date on which authorization to use the data is granted, and remains valid until the end of the research project (declared or anticipated).\n11. If any changes are made to the project definition, security measures, personnel or organization described in this agreement, it is the responsibility of the Principal Investigator to obtain the agreement of the structure providing the data for these amendments. When the Principal Investigator changes organization, a new request for authorization to use the data must be submitted, as this agreement loses its validity.\n12. Violations of this agreement will be treated with care by the data-providing organization, which will take action against those responsible for such violations, whether intentional or accidental. Failure to comply with this agreement may result in legal action.
