The system should be designed so that the indicators produced are comparable and harmonized as far as possible with what is done internationally. \n\t\t\nThe EMC was administered in four rounds between January and December 2014. There is a main questionnaire with attached specialized modules implemented in one or more of the rounds. The additional specialized modules were administered to a subsample of the entire sample when a smaller sample was adequate. Administering the core questionnaire for the survey should take 30 minutes. Each additional module will also be limited to about 30 minutes. The employment and consumption modules were administered in each round.\n\nThe EMC 2014 is part of the household surveys titled Living Standards Measurement Study - Integrated Surveys on Agriculture (LSMS-ISA). The LSMS-ISA designs and implements panel household surveys representative at national level and with a strong focus on agriculture. The surveys collect data with a multi-topic approach designed to improve the understanding of the links between agriculture, socioeconomic status, and non-farm income activities, with the aim to improve the understanding of household and individual welfare, livelihoods and smallholder agriculture.","coll_dates":[{"start":"2014","end":"2014","cycle":""}],"nation":[{"name":"Burkina Faso","abbreviation":"BFA"}],"geog_coverage":"The survey is nationally representative.","analysis_unit":"The unit of measure is the household and the individuals within the household.","universe":"The universe includes all household members currently living in Burkina Faso. A staff for each of the 905 enumeration areas was drawn on that occasion \n- In the second stage, 12 households were drawn with equal probability in each EA. This followed a listing operation which updated the list of households and the size of EAs for estimation of sampling weights. The size of the survey sample was fixed based on budgetary constraints and survey parameters (design effect, coefficient of variation, level of precision required); the available data on household consumption and population projections; and took into account the significance of requirements at national and regional levels and area of residence. The initial estimate is for a sample size of approximately 10 860 households (12 households in each of the 905 EAs)","coll_mode":["Face-to-face paper [f2f]"],"research_instrument":"There are 6 questionnaires for the study: \n1.
