Survey estimates are representative at the department level. To improve the representation of specific livelihood zones and increase the number of rural respondents, Artibonite, Nord and Nord-Ouest departments were stratified. The Ouest department was further stratified to improve the representation of several communes particularly exposed to impact of the escalation in violence and insecurity in Haiti. The sample targeted the entire population of Haiti, and survey estimates are representative at administrative level 1 and partially at Livelihood Zone Level (LHZ) level. Specifically, livelihood zones define geographic areas of a country where people generally share similar options for obtaining food and income and similar access to markets. Therefore, base weights at the LHZ/admin1 level were computed to correct for unequal probabilities of selection across these areas. The education level of head of household was used as a wealth proxy at admin 1 level to adjust for socioeconomic bias. The users shall not take any action with the purpose of identifying any individual entity (i.e. person, household, enterprise, etc.) in the micro dataset(s). If such a disclosure is made inadvertently, no use will be made of the information, and it will be reported immediately to FAO.
