In general, the information gathered from the agricultural questions provided an assessment of the current state of the agriculture sector in Kiribati, including information on the characteristics of the households engaged in the agriculture sector and its subsectors.","coll_dates":[{"start":"2020-11-07","end":"2020-11-28","cycle":""}],"nation":[{"name":"Kiribati","abbreviation":"KIR"}],"geog_coverage":"The Population and Housing Census 2020 covered the entire country.","analysis_unit":"Agricultural holdings","universe":"The statistical unit in the Population and Housing Census 2020 was the household, covering private households and institutions.","data_kind":"Census\/enumeration data [cen]","notes":"The scope of the agricultural module covered subsectors of agriculture in which households were engaged, including crop farming activities and livestock rearing. The census was based on the complete enumeration of all households in the frame.","coll_mode":["Computer Assisted Personal Interview [capi]"],"research_instrument":"One questionnaire was used in the census, which included the agricultural module. A pilot census was conducted to test the questionnaire, the CAPI signals for synchronizing data, and the approach to respondents. After the pilot census, adjustments were made to the questionnaire. During data collection, the geographical position via GPS helped monitor households being skipped or recorded as out of bounds of the EAs. Three levels of monitoring took place, i.e., supervisors on the field, data validators and staff in the National Statistics Office headquarters, and monitors from the Server at headquarters both in the National Statistics Office and at SPC using the Dashboard of Survey Solutions. The Dashboard could be seen, simultaneously, by the National Statistics Office in Kiribati and by SPC during the days of the enumeration. Quality assurance was the main objective during the data cleaning process.","cleaning_operations":"Direct data capture was ensured by the CAPI method using Android tablets and Survey Solutions software. Most of the editing was carried out on the field. Data was edited and cleaned using Stata version 15, which was also used for data analysis together with CSPro 6.6. Editing and finalization of data was done by the Pacific Community (SPC). This was a collaborative work by both SPC and the National Statistics Office of Kiribati, and the quality was assured by SPC technical staff and a demographer."}},"data_access":{"dataset_use":{"conditions":"For additional information on data access and use, please contact the National Statistics Office of Kiribati.\nWebsite: https:\/\/nso.gov.ki\/\nEmail: statistics@mfep.gov.ki; atekaieti@mfep.gov.ki"}}},"schematype":"survey"}
