The crop seasons are generally identified by the months of harvesting of a crop during a normal year. For the purpose of the survey, kharif season will include both early kharif (i.e. autumn) and late kharif (i.e. winter). Generally the harvesting months of the early kharif and the late kharif seasons extent over August to October and November to January respectively. Thus, in general, the crops which are harvested during August to January will be considered as the crops of the kharif season
