Agricultural Survey [ag/oth]
Abstract
The FAO has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). The FAO launched this eighth-round survey using computer-assisted telephone interviews in the 18 governorates of Iraq (Anbar, Babylon, Baghdad, Basrah, Diyala, Duhok, Erbil, Kerbela, Kirkuk, Maysan, Muthanna, Nainawa, Najaf, Qadisiya, Salah Al-Deen, Sulaimaniyah, Thi-Qar and Wasit) from 16 July to 13 August 2022, at the end of the harvesting season for the main crops (barley and wheat). Sampling

Sampling Procedure
A total of 2643 households were interviewed (2019 non-agricultural households and 624 agricultural households) using a panel list of agricultural households (interviewed during the previous round of data collection) and the random digital dialing approach. The sample target of 136 households per governorate was either reached or exceeded in all governorates, and survey findings are representative at the governorate level across the country.
Weighting
The final weight is a product of regional strata weights, education weights and wealth weights. Regional strata weights and wealth weights are calculated on admin 1 level. The access to flush toilets is used as a wealth proxy. Education weights are calculated on admin 0 level due to lack of baseline data.
