Agricultural Survey [ag/oth]
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). FAO and the World Food Programme (WFP) launched a Round 8, randomized telephone interviews survey on 2 December 2023 to monitor agricultural livelihoods and food security in the 14 States and Regions (out of 15) of Myanmar. Data collection resumed on 23 December 2023. The sample of 3 189 households was representative at the admin 1 level.

The sample of 3189 households was representative at the administrative level 1. Data were collected through CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interview) in 14 out of Myanmar’s 15 States and Regions. The survey targeted the entire population and was designed based on country-specific needs, objectives, and constraints. It aimed to achieve a 10 percent margin of error, a 95 percent confidence level, administrative-level granularity, and adequate sample sizes for key target populations, including agricultural households.
The same weighting approach as the previous round was applied, combining base weights, agricultural household weights, and education-based weights at the admin 1 level. Base weights correct for unequal selection probabilities across regions, while agricultural and education weights adjust for potential response bias among key socioeconomic groups.
