Agricultural Survey [ag/oth]
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) conducted the sixteenth round of household surveys in Yemen through computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) from 27 February to 10 March 2024. A total number of 2 500 households were interviewed, of which 51.4 percent were engaged in agricultural activities (crop, livestock, or both), and only 1.4 percent were engaged in fish production and sale in the 12 months preceding the survey.

Scope
The survey collected information on:
- HOUSEHOLD : household information

- FISHERIES PRODUCTION : fish activity, comparison of fish production
- FISHERIES MARKETING : fish sale, fish sale difficulties, fish sale price
- FOOD SECURITY AND CONSUMPTION : food consumption, food utilization, coping strategies
- NEEDS ASSISTANCE : open questions on the needs for assistance

Sampling
Initially, the sample was designed to include 110 households in each of the 22 governorates, amounting to a total of 2 420 households nationally. The sample is representative of the population of Yemen and of the governorates (administrative level 1), with a 95 percent confidence level and a 10 percent margin of error. Eventually, 2 500 households were interviewed, of which 51.4 percent were engaged in agricultural activities (crop, livestock, or both), and only 1.4 percent were engaged in fish production and sale in the 12 months preceding the survey.
Data were weighted at the analytical stage to ensure a proportionate representation of the population. Weights were computed based on population size and wealth proxies (access to drinkable water and education of the heads of household).

Data processing
The datasets have been edited and processed for analysis by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Data in Emergencies (DIEM) Hub at the Office of Emergencies and Resilience, with some dashboards and visualizations produced.
