Agricultural Survey [ag/oth]
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). FAO conducted the nineteenth round of household surveys in Yemen through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) from 06 to 20 June 2024. The survey estimates are representative of the population of Yemen and of the governorates (administrative level 1), with a 95 percent confidence level and a 10 percent margin of error. A total of 2500 households were interviewed, of which 53.8 percent were engaged in agricultural activities (crop, livestock and both), and only 2 percent were engaged in fish production and sale in the 12 months preceding the survey.

FAO conducted the nineteenth round of household surveys in Yemen through computer-assisted telephone interviews from 6 to 20 June 2024. Initially, the sample was designed with 110 households in each of the 22 governorates, amounting to 2 420 households nationally. The survey estimates are representative of the population of Yemen and of the governorates (administrative level 1), with a 95 percent confidence level and a 10 percent margin of error.
Eventually, 2500 households were interviewed, of which 53.8 percent were engaged in agricultural activities (crop, livestock and both), and 2 percent were engaged in fish production and sales in the 12 months preceding the survey.
Data was weighted during the analysis to ensure a proportionate representation.
Weights were computed as follows: base weight using population counts at administrative level 1; wealth weights using the access to drinkable (improved) water at administrative level 1 "o_hh_wealth_water"; second proxy for wealth using as a proxy the education level of head of household at administrative level 1 (where 'religious education' was recoded to 'no education').
