During the electronic data processing, the field supervisors were asked to encode 1 if CODE 7 - Others (specify) is encircled as the sample farmer's reason for lower production.
The encoded number one (1) acts much like a "tick mark" and allowed the data processing system to count the responses pertaining to the said reason.

Notes

Other reasons for lower production include delayed planting, delayed pick-up of produce, falling flowers, low price of tomato, lack of manpower and high cost of inputs.
