During the electronic data processing, the field supervisors were asked to encode 1 if CODE 8 - Others (specify) is encircled; indicating that the sample farmer encountered such problem.
The encoded number one (1) acts much like a "tick mark" and allowed the data processing system to count the responses pertaining to the said productrion problem.
