During the electronic data processing, the field supervisors were asked to encode 1 if CODE 6 - Others (specify) is encircled as one of the marketing problems encountered by the sample farmer.
The encoded number one (1) acts much like a "tick mark" and allowed the data processing system to count the responses pertaining to the said marketing problem.

Notes

Other marketing problems encountered by the sample farmers include delay in the payment of produce by processors; too many farmer competitors; strict product classification by buyers/traders; difference in size classification by farmer and trader and prices were controlled by traders.
